Mohan Heritage Park, Solan
Mohan Shakti Heritage Park is an upcoming heritage park aimed at studying the Vedic Sciences and educate the younger generation about the findings of the Vedas and ancient Indian Culture. National Heritage Park is located at Shakti Sthal on NH 22 between Kalka and Shimla 7 Kms from Solan Brewery in Himachal Pradesh. One has to take diversion from Salogada to Ashwini Khud at Shakti Sthal. The park is located at the ‘Hart Village’ , 7 kilometers from the Shimla-Kalka National Highway.
Dharon ki Dhar
Solan is a beautiful place but most of its places are undiscovered. Here is an ancient fort at Dharon Ki Dhar in Solan District of State of Himachal, India. It is just 5-km track from the hotel.It is not far from solan when we track its take approximate 1 hour. There were many beautiful scenic views on the way.This fort is 4 KM on foot to reach there. It took hardly 1 hour to reach the fort which is on the top of a hill. According to us it is one of the best tracking place in Solan.
Kasauli is a small town in the state of Himachal Pradesh located at an altitude of 1,927 m. Legend says that it came into existence after Lord Hanuman placed his feet here in order to advance on to the Sanjeevani hill. The place where the lord actually kept his feet is believed to be at a hillock which is 300 m high. Historically, Kasauli is one of those hill stations that was developed by the British Empire during its peak period in India. It is one of those places that, despite its beauty still has yet to find itself prominently on the tourist's map.
Habban Valley is a small Village/hamlet in Rajgarh Tehsil in Sirmaur District of Himachal Pradesh State, India. It comes under Habban Marhechi Panchayath. It is an enchanting destination and the area has thick pine fir, kail, baan and deodar forests besides orchards of apples and peaches. The climate is pleasant round the year and in winter, Habban occasionally has snow. Habban is about 70 km from Solan via Yashwant Nagar and Rajgarh.Habban Valley is surrounded by Pachhad Tehsil towards South, Solan Tehsil towards west, Sangrah Tehsil towards South, Kandaghat Tehsil towards west. Solan, Shimla, Nahan, Kalka are the nearby Cities to Habban valley.
Haripurdhar is a small town in Sirmour District of Himachal Pradesh in India. This place derives its name from a mountain called Haripur Dhar. Haripurdhar is one of the less frequented destinations in the area. Luscious cotton clouds will welcome you to this simple town enveloped by lush green beauty. The town is perched on a high ridge watching over a deep valley. There are many places of natural beauty and religious importance in the surrounding region of Haripurdhar.Haripurdhar is about 100 kms from Solan. This little town can be reached via cabs.
Churdhar peak can be approached from at least three routes - Chaupal in Shimla district is the base for the shortest route of 7 kms, while Haripurdhar in Sirmour district is the base for a longer route of some 50 km. Nauradhar (Nohra) is the third base from where Churdhar is a 20 km climb and this is the route I took. Nauradhar is a small town on the Solan - Rajghat -Sangrah road and is about 388 km from Delhi, which can be covered in about nine hours by car.
The former 'summer capital' of Patiala, Chail is 43-km from Shimla and 38.5-km from solan. At 2,250m, it has the world's highest cricket pitch and a polo ground, the old palace, now a hotel and the possibility of some angling are added attractions. Chail is hiker's paradise. The area is very peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of Shimla. 3-kms from the hotel is the worlds highest Cricket ground. Close by is a National Park, which has limited number of birds and deers.
Karol is a tourist and pilgrim center of Solan. The Karol Tibba is a splendid picturesque spot of Solan raised at an elevation of 7000 feet. The hill top is an adventurous trekking track and ideal for picnic. Besides being a site for adventure sport it also has religious importance. The peak is believed to be one of the sites where the Pandavas lived during their exile. The Karol Goofa also known as the Sidh Goofa, located here, is the longest Goofa (cave) in the Himalayan region. It starts from Karol and ends at Pinjore (Haryana). The Kali temple, Hanuman Temple and Thakur Temple are located on the hill.
Shimla can be visited throughout the year, as each season has its charm. The snowfall during the winters attract many tourists and accommodation can prove to be difficult. In the summers one can escape from the scorching heats of the plains and can enjoy the cool breeze at Shimla and in its vicinity. In summer, Shimla has the attraction of excellent walks and treks against the backdrop of the scenic beauty of wooded ravines, flowers and pines. Road distance from Solan to Shimla is 49.2 km.
